Clinical Supervision
Please contact Suzie (who works in Oakwood, Leeds) if you are researching possible supervisors for your clincial practice. 0776 3026924 suzie@appliedtherapy.co.uk
My style as a supervisor mirrors that of my role as a therapist, in that I carefully tailor my approach to suit your specific clinical and developmental needs. I will respond to your specific stage of training or clinical experience and support your general professional and personal development.
As a therapist I work integratively with a particularly relational approach – incorporating my understanding of the recent neuroscientific research into childhood attachment patterns and trauma, together with my original training in TA.
I intend to facilitate the co-creation of a safe and reflective space for you to think carefully about your clients – to expand your knowledge and understanding and keep developing your capacity to support their healing and growth. By creating a supervisory environment of warmth, trust and respect, I will focus not only on the needs of your client but on the supervisory relationship – because this will determine the overall effectiveness of the supervision. An openness to learning and personal re-evaluation is essential for all of us to make the ongoing journey from trainee to experienced practitioner. My keen adherence to boundaries and sound modes of ethical practice will be a useful resource for you as you navigate the various dilemmas of clinical practice. I will also encourage you to monitor your personal wellbeing to ensure you can continue to grow and congruently model good practice.
Additionally, I hope that our sessions will provide a much needed ‘pause’ in your working month to recoup and replenish. Training as a therapist – or managing a well established practice – can be challenging at times!
If you would like to discuss whether we might be a ‘good fit’ – I will offer an initial 40-50 meeting at no charge. I will hope to hear from you.
